Sledging Sledging Trail Eiger North Face Family

Jungfrau Eiger Run

Sometimes overlooking the Lauberhorn, sometimes with the imposing Eiger north face behind you, or romantic wooded passages followed by spectacular drops – the route from the Eigergletscher station to Grindelwald Grund presents itself over a good 13 km as a varied sledging safari. Each of the four sections has its own special charm: from the Eigergletscher station to Kleine Scheidegg, the magnificent view of the foothills of the Bernese alps is fascinating; from Kleine Scheidegg to Alpiglen, the mightiest north face in the Alps is always with you; between Alpiglen and Brandegg, the steepest section awaits, with a gradient of up to 36 per cent; and if the snow conditions are good, you can head towards Grindelwald at a more leisurely pace. You can start the sledge safari at any of the four sections. The Eiger Express tricable gondola takes you directly to the Eigergletscher, while the Wengernalp Railway takes you to each of the other three starting points.

The current live status of the Jungfrau Eiger Run (no. 68 and no. 64) as well as all other hiking and sledging slopes can be found on the map further down on this page. When the Jungfrau Eiger Run is open, the Eiger Express also transports sledges.
