There's hardly any spot in the Alps that compares with the variety of flowers on the Schynige Platte. Whoever follows the newly created trail will find themselves in the midst of the rich alpine flora. It starts right at the railway station. Lily, the carved wooden cow, and her friends invite you to take photos in front of a fantastic mountain backdrop in the midst of colourful floral arrangements. The trail then leads along alpine meadows and pastures, past well-known and less well-known flowers to the Schynige Platte mountain hotel. What there is to admire changes from month to month (see bloom calendar). In June, crocuses and gentians announce the beginning of springtime on the mountain. In July, stars like the alpine rose and edelweiss line the way. In August, the carpet of flowers reaches its colourful peak. There is not only the beauty of the flora to admire, but also the unique mountain panorama of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau.
