The cold nights of this week were ideal for snow-making and enabled the grooming of some slopes in the Grindelwald and Wengen areas. This means that Grindelwald and Wengen can start the winter sports season on time for the first weekend of Advent.
Skiing in front of Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau
The fresh snow of the last few days has set a wintry mood for the start of the season at 2000 m above sea level. Next Saturday and Sunday, 1/2 December 2018, the two chairlifts at Arven and Lauberhorn will start weekend operations.
Winter walking and adventures
It's not only skiers and snowboarders who are about to start the winter sports season. In the Grindelwald and Wengen areas, the winter walking trail from Kleine Scheidegg to Wengernalp will already be open this coming weekend. On Grindelwald-First, the First Railway is in continuous operation for the excursion traffic of the First Cliff Walk, First Flyer and First Glider.
