The Lauterbrunnen-Mürren Rail & Cableway links Lauterbrunnen with the holiday resort of Mürren. An aerial cableway travels from Lauterbrunnen to the Grütschalp summit station, where passengers change to the narrow-gauge railway to reach the Winteregg Restaurant and Mürren. Four rail cars from 1966/1967 and an old-fashioned 1913 motor coach run on this route.
The aerial cableway can carry 100 persons in one cabin. The narrow-gauge railway is four kilometres long with a maximum gradient of 5 per cent. It is a single-track railway with a crossing point at Winteregg station. The aerial cableway trip takes around 4 minutes, the travel time on the narrow-gauge railway from Grütschalp to Mürren is 12 minutes.
Another part of the new rolling stock for the Grütschalp-Mürren adhesion railway of the Lauterbrunnen-Mürren mountain rail- and cableway (BLM) was delivered on 13 and 14 May 2024. In summer, the new multiple-unit trains will run in mixed operation with the existing trains on the completely renovated line between Grütschalp and Mürren. The new rolling stock with level access as well as the renovated and extended Grütschalp and Winteregg stations and Mürren station now fulfil the requirements of the Federal Disability Discrimination Act. Thanks to their higher speed the trains will sometimes be able to run every quarter of an hour. The new rolling stock marks the completion of the CHF 63 million, four-year construction project for the total renovation of the adhesion railway.

The aerial cableway can transport up to six tonnes of freight. Fully loaded, the cabin weighs 26 tonnes. The mountain station contains a modern transfer station, where freight is moved to the narrow-gauge railway. An average of 5,000 tonnes of materials are transported every year. Depending on the building requirements in Mürren, this quantity may be doubled.
